ACBA Announces the Launch of New Senior Counsel Section!
The ACBA is excited to announce the launch of the new Senior Counsel Section, dedicated to the needs of attorneys who have been in practice for 25 years or more, or who are 60 years old or more. To give members the opportunity to get involved, the ACBA is offering its members complimentary section membership in the new Senior Counsel Section for the rest of 2010. To join the section, please contact Membership Specialist Kaysi Holman at (510) 302-2200.
The inaugural event for the Senior Counsel Section was held on May 27, 2010. Renowned speakers Jay Foonberg and Robert Hawley presented an MCLE program on “How to Wind Down Your Law Practice.” The MCLE program was preceded by a reception. There were 44 attorneys in attendance, most of whom joined the section on the spot. The program received rave reviews!
Sections are an integral part of the ACBA. They provide MCLE programs and networking events specifically designed for their members. Each section is led by an Executive Committee comprised of nine section members who help plan events throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming an Executive Committee member, please contact Kaysi Holman.
The current Executive Committee will continue to plan events for the fall. The attendees at the last MCLE were surveyed to gauge their interest in program topics. The topic that generated the most interest, retirement as a renewal process, will be the focus of the next program.
